Wednesday August 7th, 2019: Picks of the Day

This Wednesday, we continue with loads of action and with that, more picks to come.

Yesterday saw us get to an 11-3-1 record on the month, and we hope to continue improving with today’s picks.

Our first pick for this day, comes at an early time in Europe, when Sporting Braga and Sturm GrazĀ  face off in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The Braga ladies were unstoppable at home last year and a tremendous scoring machine as well. The Sturm Graz girls have scored 13 goals on their last five matches, and will look to double down again.

I expect both teams to score, and the matchup should be an exciting one.

Pick: Sporting Braga Women and Sturm Graz Women, over 2.5 goals @ 1.57.

Then, we will head to the lower divisions in England, the National League North to be precise. Here, Darlington receive Gateshead’s visit, in a lower end of the table clash.

Darlington have been scoring at home, although not necessarily winning. They failed to score in a friendly against Motherwell earlier in July, and you have to go back all the way to the 27th of March to see another game where they didn’t score at home.

Meanwhile, Gateshead ended the season giving up a goal in every single match away from home in the Conference National. The last time they did not give up a goal against in an away game was the 2nd of March. They have gone down a division, and will surely have their eyes set on returning soon on their quest towards the bigger leagues.

Gateshead had a 0-0 draw to start their season, while Darlington lost to Fairley Celtic by a 3-1 score, actually scoring their goal after being 3-0 down. It doesn’t look like a straight up win for either of the two teams, but I am backing a goal by Darlington in this game.

Pick: Gateshead NO clean sheet @ 1.25

Bonus Pick: Both teams to score @ 1.80

Our next pick takes us to Romania, where Cluj will face Celtic in a Champions League qualifier first leg. We saw Celtic rain on everyone’s parade, as they notched all the goals they needed against Nomme Kalju, ending the Estonian’s chance of a Champions League appearance this year. I expect this one to be different, and the odds seem to agree.

In every home game except for the one on the 3rd of March, and the early one in July, Cluj have scored. i believe Celtic will really have a hard time repeating their performance and keeping a clean sheet against the Romanians, but they are sure to score some goals to keep up the tally.

Celtic have scored in every match except the one against St. Gallen, since the month of june.

I am taking the following picks:
Pick: CFR Cluj over 0.5 goals (or Celtic NO clean sheet) @ 1.44
Pick 2: Celtic over 1.5 goals @ 2.75
Pick 3: Both teams to score @ 2.10

Be careful as the odds are changing quickly, as soon as I placed them, both Pick 2 and 3 went on to pay lesser odds.
