The last game of the first week of Championship football sees recently demoted Huddersfield Town play at home against Derby County.
Huddersfield Town has had a good preseason, playing against the likes of Germans Greuther Fürth and Hamburger SV, and securing a win against both of them. Huddersfield went undefeated during their preseason matches and scored a goal in every one of them. They also kept a clean sheet in three out of six matches.
Derby County played five preseason matches, winning three of them and losing the last two against Girona and Rangers respectively. They managed to score at least once in each of their wins, but failed to score in their two losses, which mark their most recent games. They will hope history does not repeat itself a third time against Huddersfield Town on their season debut.
If we look only at away matches, Derby County has managed to score in four of their last five matches, while Huddersfield Town have managed to do the same, only failing to score against AFC Bournemouth, on March 9th. These two teams have not had a go against each other for more than two years, when they last drew a 1-1 result.
