K-League: Daegu vs Sangju Sangmu

Daegu FC basking in international spotlight

It’s the fourth week of action in the K-League and Daegu receive Sanju Sangmu in desperate need of their first victory of the season. Things will not be easy for the home side, who have drawn two matches and lost one. As locals, they are yet to win or lose, while the visitors are yet to score or take away any points when away from home.

Sanju Sangmu have skillful players that have provided two home victories thus far this season, but in order to take any points away from Daegu this time around, they must prove their worth and must prove that they can score on the road. They have had slight recent success against Daegu by just losing one game in the past four times they have played against each other; but they’ve also only won once in that same span.

Edgar Silva will be the key player for Daegu, and he has been a good scorer against Sanju Sangmu, providing relief the last time these two teams met, by scoring a late penalty to secure a much needed draw. Daegu will be without influential midfielder Cesinha, which could really trouble their chances.

The odds of Edgar Silva scoring during the course of the game are at 2.87, something that is clearly worth a look at, as he is Daegu’s most important striker.

I believe that Sangju Sangmu, who are outsiders in this match to the bookies at 3.60, will provide a good scare and I see them giving Daegu a run for their money.

Pick: Draw or Sangju Sangmu at 1.80

Scorer Pick: Edgar Silva to score anytime at 2.87
